Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

I decided to read this book on a whim. It’s a classic and a book I have heard about but never read. I know there are movies and all, so I thought I must  have missed out on something here. In my English studies we had to read a few classics but this was not one of them. Maybe I was lucky in that way.

Wuthering Heights

After reading this book I now wonder why I read all of it. I did not like the characters or the story. I think that a bit of research before I started to read it would have been good. Then I would know what kind of story and mood to expect to read. I found Wuthering Heights to be depressing and frustrating to read. The main characters wasn’t likable and they did so many things that upset me. I think I continued to read to find out if they ever redeemed themselves. For me it was a disappointing read but I can see why people like it. It’s a well written book, it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Vacation reading

I’m going on vacation for a week, hooray! To a warm and sunny island where I’ll be spending lots of time laying on the beach reading books. So, I have of course stacked up books to read for this vacation. I have four e-books and three physical books. Out of these seven books I realized that five of them are the first book in a series!

The books I’m going to read on my vacation

mannersandmutinyManners and Mutiny by Gail Carriger
The fourth and last book of the Finishing School series. I love Gail Carrigers books, they never disappoint! I might re-read the last chapters of Waistcoats and Weaponry before I start this one. Just to freshen up.

First book in the new Custard Protocol series. This book has me so excited! I have been waiting for it ever since finishing the Parasol Protectorate series years ago (2012) and I’m so excited to read it. I’ve been saving it for the vacation because I know I’ll enjoy it. It’s better to travel with safe bets!

RedqueenRed Queen by Victoria Aveyard
I’ve wanted to rad this one ever since I saw the cover design last year. Really, this cover is amazing! I never thought I’d find it in our local book store, but I did and I bought it. They even had a Swedish translation of it too.

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
I read a sample of this book earlier this year and when I found it on a amazon daily deal I decided to buy it. I’m quite excited to see how this world fans out from the sample I read (from chapter one). It’s promising!

Defiance by C. J Redwine
I’ve also read a sample from this book and I liked it very much. It’s going to be very fun to read it and I hope it’ll live up to the expectations I have. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this series.

Wuthering heights by Emliy Brontë
I haven’t read this classic before and I downloaded it for free thinking I would like to read it. We do have it in our book shelf since my boyfriend had to read it when he studied English at the university. Weirdly enough it wasn’t in my curriculum when I studied English the year after him. Anyway, I want to read it so it might just happen!

llusionarium by Heather Dixon
This one caught me because of the pretty cover I must admit. This seems to be a quite magical book with illusions and parallel worlds and I’m looking forward to reading it.
